Enterprise Programs: Built for Teams

The Influence Ecology Newsletter September 2019

We designed our enterprise programs for teams.

For years our students have asked us about offering Transactional Competence™ to organizations and enterprises. In late 2018, we began work with Western Digital to develop a program designed to support their Agile transformation: the act of transforming an organization’s form or nature gradually to one that is able to embrace and thrive in a flexible, collaborative, self-organizing, fast-changing environment.

In large enterprises, the historical structure adopted for corporate governance typically falls into one of three models: a product line or market segmentation structure, a geographic structure, or a functional structure (by role). However, Agile Project Management directs an approach where individuals within groups must coordinate action across functional teams. Often impeded by functional allegiances and alliances, this inherited environment requires a new framework.

The program is called Transactional Competence™ Across Teams or “TCX.” We have since fielded interest in offering the program to additional companies undergoing an Agile transformation as well as to the start-up community and the general corporate environment.

Teams require a cohesive framework to coordinate action, accelerate initiatives, and support large-scale buy-in.

Influence Ecology’s enterprise programs are designed to serve many types of enterprise teams: functional, cross-functional, project, virtual, entrepreneurial, and self-directed teams. Our enterprise programs offer an initiative-driven approach with an aim to both provide a cohesive framework to coordinate action across and within teams and to arm its individuals with the competence to produce the influence and compliance they require to accelerate initiatives in enterprise environments.

While this acceleration can produce a reduction in operational expenses, more importantly, it can profoundly reduce time to completion and the cost of missed market revenue.

Key outcomes:

  • Build a cohesive framework for collaboration that can scale
  • Cash in on the asset (and mitigate the cost) of each individual’s Personality and Transactional Behavior™
  • Accelerate initiatives; speed up the time to complete initiatives, projects, and product or service launches
  • Train participants how to produce ethical influence
  • Produce large-scale buy-in and compliance for enterprise initiatives

The program consists of ten weekly 90-minute webinar sessions and associated web-based learning modules where each session includes training delivery followed by direct application and practice. An online learning management system (LMS) with recorded webinar replay makes this training available in every time zone.

We expect our enterprise programs to help launch a new era of scaled access to Transactional Competence™.
